Wednesday, April 11, 2012 Peak. It's been awhile since I've reached the feeling of ever being sincerely happy. Not that I've been a depressed person every single day since the start of the year. It's just that days have always gone by like they always do, with you doing your normal routine. Sometimes you find time within the routine where you joke and you laugh. But after all that your mind switches back to moving on with life. There's no form of trigger that makes you reflect, by the end of that particular day about how well your day's went. But yesterday, there was. Yesterday's happiness was served to me like the courses of a meal. The appetizer was winning the mere two bucks in the afternoon. Main course had to be town. And desert was enjoying a pretty decent movie. Point is... When the feeling lingers for what you know will be for a few days, it's mafakin awesome oh. Wednesday, April 4, 2012 Throwing away the alarm clock by Charles Bukowski My father always said, "Early to bed and early to rise makes a man healthy, wealthy and wise." It was lights out at 8 p.m. in our house and we were up at dawn to the smell of coffee, frying bacon and scrambled eggs. My father followed this general routine for a lifetime and died young, broke, and, I think, not too wise. Taking note, I rejected his advice and it became, for me, late to bed and late to rise. Now, I'm not saying that I've conquered the world but I've avoided numberless early traffic jams, bypassed some common pitfalls and have met some strange, wonderful people One of whom was myself - someone my father never knew.
