Wednesday, March 31, 2010Rah-rah-a-ah-a-ah.Day 51. Lights out is when we must stfu and try to make full use of the 7 hours they give us. Its when 15 other people experience total silence almost suddenly at the same time. And the best way to get through it is to just fall asleep. It challenges adaptability.. Something we've been practising for the past 7 friggin weeks. Nonetheless, being humans, we all try to cheat sometimes. We get sneaky and talk on the phone after lights out. Breaking the rules that're meant to be broken. And at the same time, trying not to get caught. I guess certain things can be attained only through breaking rules. And this is when you start to gauge the price you want to pay in order to get it. Whether its worth the trouble? Only one way to find out. Anyhow, so glad I got my voice back~ Can't do shit without military cadence. Hahah. Its so freakin important to sing while marching. You shout and you destress. Its the same with the physical punishments we get. Life here is sorta like a 24 hour track training. Except there's no Miss Lim. -.- Just some nerds, weirdos and a only a handful of cool people who're just like me. V^.^V Bunk life can be pretty tense and hectic most of the time. We've jokes who haven't worn boots when there's a minute left to fall in. Socks and underwear all over the table. Kiwi stains on floor tiles. Food wrappers under the bed and mysterious paperbags appearing behind lockers. Hangars dropping 3 storeys down. Bedsheets that're dirtier after sending them for laundry wash. Snoring and gritting of teeth throughout the night. Fart smells...... BO. Sand all over the floor straight after field camp. Random checks by sergeants. And so much more.. -.- But for the people who've pushed through this thick and thin session with me, I can't thank them enough. (As if they had a choice. -..-) Pretty surprised its been already 7 weeks. Technically about 10 more days to POP (Passing out parade. That's when I graduate and get out of this island muthafuckas. :B). I'm somewhat excited. Mehehe. Sucks that we all go our separate ways after that. But once again I guess its part and parcel of life. You civilian people are lucky bastards. Learn to cherish. Really. Really. Thursday, March 4, 2010Futile prediction.Day 24. Its starting to get routine. I no longer count down to the weekends as much as before. Because I know they won't come that easy. Its really as though we gotta earn them through putting in effort in training. But for now, everything's fine. One more day to results day. Of course I'm nervous. I dare not predict what I'll get for any of the subjects. But I'm sure its a U for physics. haha. Bad bad badddddddd... Heh. Oh well, whatever it is, I can't change shit now. Let's just wait and see. Just can't wait to go back to catch a glimpse of everyone again. |
