Day 102 On one of the days in the past week, there was a lesson on core values. -_- They gave us each a sheet of paper which had at least 30 odd different values to choose from and asked us to select only 10. And I remember clearly what I chose. (Not that hard since we all discussed for a few hours....) Respect, Social power, Resilience, Freedom and Independence, Being forgiving, Being polite (lol), Success or achievement, Teamwork, Exciting life and Curiosity & creativity. Then there was this next slide that said.. out of this 10, choose 5. And we spent like 5 minutes choosing? Then another one said.. out of this 5, choose 3. And we felt stupid. Then another said.. out of this 3, choose 1. And we all knew this was coming. _l_ Oh right. So I ended up with........ Social power. (And the idiot next to me was laughing while another person said.. wah khai didn't know you so power hungry siah.) Our group presented when our turn came and at the mention of what I chose, I saw a few raised eyebrows. They.must.really.think.I'm.power.hungry. I guess in terms of being authoritarian and all that. BUT BUT..why is it that when everyone sees the word power..they think that way? :O Doesn't the word social change everything? Isn't it true that you can still experience social power even when you're at the bottom of any society? So long as you've managed to put yourself in a position where the least possible people disrespect you, or where most people actually "succumb" to your friendship and help you out when you need help, irregardless of their status, I feel that that's social power. So I guess since we all continue to meet more and more strangers we gotta work with in life, its plausible that salvaging social power's a never-ending process. And that's when all the other core values like Discipline and Teamwork and Care and even Being polite comes in. That's when Social power, when looked at carefully, is actually a whole package made up of other values. Yes? O.O Heh. Speaking of which, the main idea's to be able to do networking guyzz. Networking. Oh and for the geeks I've crossed paths with so far, its EQ > IQ you lame mudabitches. ^.^V
